Shipping Information

I ship UPS Next Day Air or UPS Next Day Air Saver on Monday only. Please contact me to request an alternative shipping day. This avoids weekend delays and gives the fish the best chance of arriving quickly and safely.

Placing an order does not mean your fish will ship the next available shipping day. Every group is carefully prepped for travel, ensuring they’re in top condition before they leave my tanks. I will strive to communicate an estimated shipping date as quickly as possible.

Address & Shipping Restrictions

Orders ship to the address provided at checkout. You are responsible for providing a valid, accurate shipping address - double-check your order confirmation. I will not refund orders sent to insufficient, inaccurate, or invalid addresses.

I do not ship to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO addresses, military bases, Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Carrier Responsibility

I am not responsible for carrier delays, including weather-related or logistical issues, once a package is in the hands of the carrier. I do not offer refunds or reimbursements for shipping delays caused by UPS.

Weather Holds

I do not ship when forecasted temperatures are below 40°F or above 90°F at my location, your location, or major hubs along the route. Orders will be held until conditions are safe.

Local Pickup

Local pickup is available at no charge. Simply select the pickup option during checkout, and I’ll notify you when your order is ready.

Receiving Your Shipment

Someone must be home to receive the package upon delivery. If you cannot guarantee that, I strongly recommend selecting UPS Hold for Pickup at your nearest UPS Customer Center or Access Point. Fish sitting on porches die - and deaths due to unattended packages are not covered by the live arrival guarantee.

Acclimation

Do not drip acclimate. Slow drip acclimation raises the pH of bag water, converting relatively harmless ammonium into toxic free ammonia - the longer the drip, the more toxic the water becomes.

Instead: float the sealed bag in your tank for 15–20 minutes to equalize temperature, then net the fish out of the bag water and release them directly into your tank. Discard the bag water. Do not pour it into your tank.
